Happy life! Several careers through the years…. AT&T, Southwestern Bell, real estate agent, church organist, executive suite manager, owner of secretarial service company, office manager of investment banking firm. Lately a volunteer for Literacy Kansas City; a snowbird the last two years. Married to Dave 47 years. Two wonderful daughters (both SMN graduates), 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren at last count. My motto is, “Keep a smile on your face and a spring in your step!”

Has it really been 50 years? I married Elwin Thomas (class of 57 also) in 1959. We live in Loveland, Colorado and have been here since 1975. We have 2 children and 1 granddaughter. Since we both retired, we love to travel with our RV. Sure am looking forward to the reunion. To those from Merriam Grade School. . . I've found some great photos I'll bring!

After graduation from KU (Civil Engineering) I worked in Airline and Aerospace for 20 years. I retired in 2004 from Loyola Marymount University where I served as a Vice President. In 2003 I lost my wife Dana after 37 years of a wonderful life together. I have 2 married chlidren, and soon to be 4 grandchildren. In 2005 I remarried a terrific woman, Olivia, and moved to condo in Redondo Beach. We both do some consulting and a lot of travel. Looking forward to seeing all of you in 2007.

I am now retired from a late-found career of teaching high-school English, inspired, no doubt, by memories of Wilma White. Years ago, as a new bride working downtown, I ran into Wilma at the Muehlebach Coffee Shop. I was on my lunch hour; and as luck would have it, a book was tucked under my arm, which she did not fail to notice! For the past 21 years, I’ve been married to a professor of philosophy—and, no, we don’t sit around discussing Wittgenstein or asking ourselves if the table is real!! Our home is in Kansas City, but we spend a good part of the year sub-letting an apartment in New York, where we take advantage of all the city has to offer. Two of my children live in Kansas City, two in California. It’s fun to watch grandchildren make their way through the Shawnee Mission schools. Life is good. I still like learning (right now, French) and remain active, so no complaints. Judy (Kay) Walter

Charlie and I have lived in the Johnson County area since 1963. We both graduated from the University of Kansas. I received a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy and Master's degree in Special Education. I have worked in various full time and part time positions as a therapist. My last 16 years were spent in the Kansas City, Kansas and Shawnee-Mission schools working with the physically disabled children. We have three children, who attended the Shawnee-Mission schools. and two grandchildren. I have retired from physical therapy, and Charlie is still a full time attorney. Therefore, we are part-time travelers. I have done alot of gardening, playing golf, and volunteer work in the past years. I am now taking bridge lessons trying to see if I can sit still and concentrate on making game.

Served 4 yrs USCG, then 3 yrs USA followed by 14 yrs USAF as an air traffic controller retiring in 1978 as a Msgt. Went to college for electro-mechanical engineering where I worked for a number of companies until retiring again in 2001. Sally and I have been married for just over 20 yrs and have 5 sons(between us), one GRANDDAUGHTER and one GRANDSON. Life has been good!!!

We have been in St. Paul, MN for 22 years, transferring from Kansas City in 1985.  We married (Jerry Wilder, SM 57) in 1961 after graduating from the University of Kansas.  We have a daughter and a son, and four grandchildren.  

I taught first grade in Lawrence, KS and then in Roeland Park.  I also substitute taught for some years.  

After moving to St. Paul I went with Edina Realty Co., then taught at an Adult Basic Education program, and currently volunteering at my church.

Audrey Reynolds (SM 57) and I got married in 61.  Still going.  2 kids, and 4 grandkids.

Went to KU and ended up with a MS in Chemistry.  Taught chemistry at SM North, of all places, and even coached football.  Moved on to being a chemist at an industrial adhesives company.  Stayed there 34 years doing many different jobs before retiring in 01.  

In 85 my job brought us to Shoreview, MN, a northern suburb of the Twin Cities.  I now do a lot of volunteering at the Red Cross, and other organizations.
