It’s wondrous what hugs and prayers can do.
A hug can cheer us when we’re sick and blue.
A hug can say, I love and care for you so.
Hugs and Prayers bring smiles and a rainbow’s glow.

No need to fret about your store of ‘em;
The more you give,
The more there’s more of them,
So stretch those arms without delay,
And give a friend a hug today.

Contact us if you know someone that should be on this list.

We are sorry to report that Sim Yeoman's wife Sandi  has recently been in a car accident.  She was by herself and no one in the other car was injured.  She has a broken leg, stitches, and more.  I am sure Sim and Sandi would welcome hugs and prayers from their friends.  We are all so glad Sandi came through the accident ok and is getting better one day at a time! Sandi's good sense of humor and upbeat personality will help her through these difficult days.

Hugs and Prayers from your friends of class 57

I AM DOING MUCH BETTER BUT STILL HAVING SOME PAIN IN MY RIGHT HIP. THE GOOD THING IS IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY CANCER. MY DOCTORS STILL BELIEVE IT IS ARTHRITIS BUT I THINK THEY ARE WRONG. IT HURTS SO BAD IT FEELS MORE LIKE A NERVE. I AM TAKING PAIN PILLS AND HAVE STARTED GOING TO A CHIROPRACTOR AND A LADY AT CHURCH GAVE ME SOME EMU OIL TO RUB ON IT. IT HAS IMPROVED A LOT IN THE LAST WEEK OR SO AND THE PAIN IS NOT NEARLY AS BAD. I USE MAYBE 1 PAIN PILL A DAY NOW AND IT IS MUCH BETTER. I HAD MY SECOND CHEMO TREATMENT LAST FRIDAY AND AM FEELING PRETTY GOOD EXCEPT FOR FEELING SOME FATIGUE AND LOSING MY APPETITE TO SOME DEGREE. I LOST 6 POUNDS LAST 2 WEEKS BUT I NEEDED TO LOSE SOME ANYWAY. WILL PROBABLY HAVE A CT SCAN IN A FEW WEEKS TO SEE IF THE TUMOR HAS STOPPED GROWING. WILL LET YOU KNOW OF THE RESULTS, AM HOPING FOR THE BEST. THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS AND WILL TALK TO YOU SOON.

Leon Phillips was not able to attend our high school reunion because of his going through chemo. He welcomes all the prayers and hugs we can give! Leon we all are so glad you are through your chemo and are getting stronger. We look forward to seeing you at our next reunion

I'M SORRY ABOUT NOT KEEPING ALL OF YOU UPDATED ON MY CANCER TREATMENTS. I HAVEN'T FELT SO GOOD THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS BUT AM NOW SLOWLY IMPROVING. I RECEIVED MY NEW CHEMO DRUG ( ALIMTA ) ON FRIDAY THE 9th OF MAY. THE WEEK BEFORE I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY RIGHT HIP WHEN I PUT ANY WEIGHT ON IT THE PAIN WAS PRETTY BAD. THE DRUG CAUSED ME TO HAVE SOME UPSET WITH MY DIGESTIVE TRACT AND ALSO VERY TIRED. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVEN'T HAD A GOOD 2 WEEKS. LAST THURSDAY THEY PUT ME ON PAIN PILLS AND TOOK AN XRAY OF THE HIP AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD CALL WITH THE RESULTS ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON OR FRIDAY AT THE LATEST. THEY FINALLY CALLED ON FRIDAY AND SAID THE XRAYS WERE PENDING? WHEN THEY SEND ME A BILL FOR THE XRAY I THINK I SHALL TELL THEM THE CHECK IS PENDING.AN EXAMPLE OF OUR MEDICAL FACILITIES IN SPRINGFIELD. SO WE DON'T KNOW THE CAUSE OF THE PAIN IN MY HIP RIGHT NOW BUT HOPEFULLY WILL FIND OUT NEXT WEEK. I'M SURE THINGS WILL IMPROVE AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE. THANKS TO ALL FOR THE PRAYERS AND ALL THE CARDS AND LETTERS. TALK TO YOU ALL LATER. GOD BLESS.

The last weekend of Dec, Sheron Gould George's husband, Dave, who was at the SM 50th Reunion, was resuscitated  from a cardiac arrest while at the Sea World in their home town of San Antonio.  Dave is at home after a week in hospital and doing well with a defibrillator(ICD)/pacemaker and continued prayers are much appreciated for still other health concerns. The doctor said that it is a miracle that he is doing this well, we are thankful to say.

Thank you Joanie Phillips Qualls for letting us know about Sheron's husband.  Please send prayers and hugs to both Sheron and her husband Dave.

dsgeorge@gmail.com   San Antonio, Tx.

We hear that David is doing better and his Dr thinks he has made an amazing comeback. He still welcomes our prayers as he still has a long road to full recovery.

January 15th  David is home with pacemaker and we are happy to be able to report that he is getting better one day at a time.
